Looking simple, but surprisingly powerful, the Property edit panel is the heart of Property-tools.

It support model states and expressions. It is dockable and is always there when you need it, but is not in your way when you are creative in Inventor. Edit active model or drawing, or select a component or part that you want to edit. Configure it to show thumbnail image from the file to enhance visuals.  Get visual feedback on document category with colored accents in the property edit panel. The configuration is comprehensive enough to make the property edit panel support your advanced needs.

Define your custom or standard properties to be displayed and manipulated by Property-tools.  To define a custom property, check "Custom Property". Check Read-Only if property shall be displayed but not edited. You can define multiple properties with the same name to be used with different definitions in different document categories. You can even define a rule to hide the property from property edit panel if the rule is evaluated to True. For instance, a property can be used in document category "Assembly", but shall be hidden if custom iProperty "Layout" is not "Yes".

Create lists of text values to be used by properties for easy standardized input. User can still override and type their own text, unless "List only" is checked. If list only, user must choose from one of the values in list and cannot be overridden. 

You can define more document categories if you need to more control to present properties than only separating into file extensions. In addition to Part, Assembly and Drawing, create more custom document categories like "Layout Drawing" or "Electrical Assembly". For each document category, add one or more property groups to populate your property edit panel. 

Enhance your property edit panel by defining multiple Property groups to suit your workflow. You can add one or multiple property groups to each document category. To save space and make property edit panel less cluttered, put the less used (but still important) properties in a group to be initially collapsed. 

Have you created some useful external iLogic rules you want to distribute to your team and be presented as proper Inventor functions? 

Define them here. Point to your rule and select your button image. A selection of button images that works well in both light and dark mode is supplied with Property-tools.  Select which environments the rule button shall be available, and you can also select the rule button to be placed in the ribbon to make it extra available in daily use.  Add tooltiips so your team understand the genius of your iLogic rules

Use the supplied images for automatic theming in light/dark mode, or if you prefer an image that does not theme well, simply turn off theming for this rule.

Property-tools s under heavy development and lots of useful updates are under development. Among the new tools and enhancements that are planned or in development already is:
